Introduction

         Introduction
First thing I learned about becoming an artist is that no one can’t really teach you how to draw or paint, it’s something that you have learn for yourself. The best way to learn is that you have to just pick up a pencil or a brush, and just draw or paint everything you see. For me, I started off drawing Saturn rocket, Space Shuttles, and Astronauts then I moved on to draw cartoon characters while growing up as a kid.
At first, I really didn’t have anyone to actually teach me how to draw; it was something I learned on my own. The way I learned to draw was to buy a comic book, and to see how the artists draw the figures, buildings, and many other things. Every time I draw, I either copy those drawings or use those books as reference each time. Basically, that’s how I learn to draw, and I gone through a lot of sketch books every time. I was trying very hard to make my drawings to be perfect, but every time I feel that my drawings didn’t look right to me, and I would tire up the paper, and throw it into the trash. My parents would encourage me to develop my own style of drawing instead of other artist. What my parents were trying to tell me, instead of copying other artists, I needed to learn to draw things the way I see them. Just draw and paint the way I see the world around me, and to get the world itself to see the images through my eyes. I actually won’t develop my own style, and my own approach in creating art until later on.
As a freshman in High School, I actually started receiving my first instruction on learning how to draw, and to learned more about art terms, techniques, and history.  The art teacher, I had at that time, starts us off learning to draw the basic shapes such as cones, cubes, and other shapes, and to study shading techniques too. He never had us draw or do anything in color yet, everything we did in class was done in black and white media. Throughout the school year, I started to learn about art history and was exposed to other artist and their works, but more important I learn more about their different styles and techniques. These artist I was introduce to, were not the ones who draw cartoons and comic books which I drawn from as a child. Now, by learning all of these terms, history, styles, and techniques will shaped the way I create my art and for me to develop my own styles.
